Overview

In Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) when users experience stuck sessions, ghost sessions or need to be logged out of for security or compliance reasons, acting quickly and accurately is essential. Manually managing AVD sessions, especially without direct access to the client’s environment, can be slow, inconsistent and prone to error. A single missed step can leave sessions active longer than intended and disrupt the user experience.

To solve this problem, we use an automation that retrieves all active sessions and cleanly logs out the selected user, ensuring the process is handled securely and consistently without the need for manual logins.

The Logout Azure Virtual Desktop User Sessions PiaPack includes both chatbot and SmartForms automations. The chatbot automation allows your Service Desk to manage your client’s AVD session without them having to do it manually, whereas the SmartForms automation empowers your client’s to safely manage their own AVD sessions.

Flow

  1. Pia will retrieve a list of user sessions that are currently logged into the client’s AVD environment.
  2. Pia will ask you to select from the list those that are currently active and may need to be logged out.
  3. Pia will then ask you to review the selections for accuracy.
  4. Pia will then log out the user session(s) you have selected.
