Overview

In Service Desk, your team often needs to manage local user accounts on individual machines. An issue may arise when a user forgets their password and there's no centralized system in place to handle the reset. So, how do you efficiently retrieve user details and reset passwords on a local PC?

To solve this problem, we use an automation that scans the local machine to retrieve a list of all usernames. Once the desired account is selected, Pia will reset the password of the selected user on their PC. This ensures quick resolution for locked-out users and helps maintain smooth access to local systems.

Flow

Here’s the flow:

  1. Pia will retrieve a list of local machines for the client and present the list in a drop-down format for you to select a single machine.
  2. Pia will then retrieve a list of users from the machine and present the users in a drop-down for you to select a user.
  3. Pia will reset the password of the selected user.
