Overview
Adding a user to a security group may seem straightforward, but it's a critical step that, if missed, can significantly impact their ability to perform daily tasks. So how can you ensure users are automatically added to the correct groups without relying on your Service Desk to remember to do it manually?
To solve this issue, we have developed an extension automation that you can configure with as many groups as you like. When this extension is called, we automatically add the users to the configured groups, eliminating the need for manual follow-up by the engineer.
Flow
Your engineer will run the automation which is configured to use this extension at a particular point in the automation and the Add User to Groups will begin processing.
- Pia will retrieve the user’s information from the parent automation.
- Pia will check for the configured group in the extension automation:
- If the automation has group input in the Package configuration form, Pia will automatically add the user to the configured Microsoft 365 groups.
- If the automation does not have group input in the Package configuration form, Pia will complete execution of the extension automation.
