Pia Pal Highlight: Meet Mai Yan

Welcome back to Pia Pal Highlight, our monthly blog series where we shine a light on the amazing folks who make up the Pia team. This month, we’re super excited to introduce you to Mei Yan, one of our Partner Success Managers. Mei is all about dedication and thinking ahead, making sure our partners do great and really make the most of our platform. She jumped over from the finance scene to Pia because she’s all in on finding new solutions and helping businesses grow. Aside from her role at Pia, Mei’s passion for volleyball and her artistic skills bring extra flavor to who she is. Come along as we explore Mei’s motivating journey and the difference she’s making at Pia and in the wider world.

What’s your role at Pia? Describe what it does and the impact it has on partners.

MY: I am currently a Partner Success Manager at Pia, where I work closely with our partners to ensure they get the most value from our platform. My role involves understanding their unique needs, providing tailored solutions, and supporting their ongoing growth and success. By fostering strong relationships and delivering strategic insights, I help partners unlock new opportunities and maximise the potential of their businesses.

Tell us about your background? How did you find Pia?

MY: Before joining Pia, I worked as an Account Manager at a finance company, where I honed my skills in building relationships, managing portfolios, and delivering exceptional customer service. I discovered Pia through its reputation for innovation in the tech space, and I was inspired by its mission to revolutionise how businesses approach AI-driven solutions.

What attracted you to Pia?

MY: What drew me to Pia was its forward-thinking approach and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology. The company’s collaborative culture and focus on empowering partners through innovation really resonated with me. I wanted to be part of a team that is shaping the future and making a tangible impact on businesses worldwide.

When you aren’t working at Pia, what will we most likely find you doing?

MY: When I’m not working at Pia, you will most likely find me on the volleyball court. I’ve been competing at the State level for the past 6 years and it’s my favourite way to stay active, connect with friends, and unwind. Whether it’s a casual game or something more competitive, I love the teamwork and energy that volleyball brings!

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

MY: Since I work remotely and do all my catchups via Teams, most people don’t know that I am a whopping 180cm (5’9’’ for American folks) tall.

What’s your hidden talent?

MY: I have a knack for creative hobbies and have dabbled in many forms over the years, including painting, crocheting, jewelry making, sewing, and nail art to name a few. However, I’m always up for the challenge of learning another new skill and currently have my eyes set on pottery, juggling, and costuming.

What do you like most about working at Pia?

MY: The best part of working at Pia is the people. Everyone is incredibly passionate, supportive, and driven by a shared vision. I also love the constant opportunities to learn and grow, both personally and professionally, in a dynamic and exciting environment.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

MY: The best advice I’ve received is “Success is built on relationships”. It reminds me to always prioritise building genuine connections, understanding people’s needs, and approaching challenges with empathy and collaboration.
